Maceration Slides
A maceration slide is a slide in which the middle lamellae of the studied cells have been dissolved, leaving the protoplast and the inner cell walls spread out on the slide. As a result, organelles and tissue within the cells, such as, when in a section of primary tissue, protoxylem, metaxylem, tracheids, vessel elements, phloem fibers, and parenchyma cells, can be seen clearer across the slide.
